Primary objective
To prepare the communities of the NT for the impact of storms, floods, cyclones and tsunami through the development,
support and maintenance of the NT Emergency Service (NTES) Community Engagement and awareness programs, digital
content and publications.
Key duties and responsibilities
Contribute to the development of Community Engagement strategies and tactics.
Provide graphic design support towards initiatives in accordance with the NTPFES Branding Guidelines
Develop and promote NTES communications through high level writing, still imagery and/or filmed footage.
Film/photograph and edit NTES personnel in accordance with NTPFES policies and legal requirements.
Liaise with stakeholders to develop, maintain and deliver school-based education programs to more appropriately reflect
current learning outcomes and coordinate delivery of programs.
Undertake operational duties, as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Ability to record and edit video footage and still imagery suitable to effective communication for both internal and
external audiences through web based and print mediums.
2. Demonstrated high level of conceptual and analytical skills, as well as high level written communication skills, with
attention to detail and the ability to proofread and edit.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide variety of internal and external
stakeholders and successfully manage a wide network of relationships.
4. Demonstrated understanding of multimedia technologies and including the ability to research, provide advice to Project
Managers and evaluate new and emerging trends to promote the NTES brand.
5. Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft computer software packages with a working knowledge of government systems,
records management systems and databases, and knowledge of web-based technologies, or an ability to quickly learn.
6. Hold a NT “C” Class driving licence.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in graphic design, marketing, project management, or communications is highly desirable.
2. Relevant tertiary qualification or sounds experience in a similar position.
3. Knowledge and understanding of working in a volunteer environment.
