About the role
Due to the rapid growth of our company, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Melbourne. The position is ideal for a passionate, motivated and self-reliant team player.
The responsibilities will include:
- Provide accurate estimates of jobs including purchase orders, variations.
- Ability to read and understand plans.
- Prepare quotes for management review.
- Assist with maintaining and updating construction files.
- Collaborate closely with site managers, project managers, sales team, engineers, and subcontractors, gathering all the vital info needed for precise estimates.
- Dive deep into cost analysis, taking into account everything from labour and materials to equipment and overhead expenses.
- Create thorough estimates, breaking down costs item by item to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Complete set tasks and achieve job targets.
- Any other related ad-hoc duties.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- At least 3 years or more in working as an estimator in the residential construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations and construction methodology/buildability practices.
- Experience with production & sales estimating experience.
- Experience with Procore and/or other estimating softwares.
- Large database of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Has the ability to work independently with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good time management abilities and attention for detail.
- Being able to work as an individual and work co-operatively as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus, but not a must.
