Construction Vocational Trainer And Mentor

Due to continued growth within the business, DGT Employment and Training are seeking highly motivated Trainers or enthusiastic Mentors looking to start their career as a Trainer.  As a mentor, you have a Construction background and will work with our Students alongside a qualified Trade Trainer to assist with the delivery of high-quality training.

This is a role that you can develop within to become a fully qualified Trainer with the completion of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment whilst engaged as a full time Mentor.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Assist Students with practical activities
• Assist Students to achieve training milestones and goals
• Keep the training areas clean, tidy, safe and prepared for classes
• Ensure all equipment is kept in good operational condition
• Assist Trainer with Student management

Skills you need to be successful

• Trade qualification in any of the following:
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Cabinetmaking
  • Shopfitting
  • Electrician
• Ability to engage, inspire and support students throughout their learning
• Desire to complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Good written and verbal communication
• Reasonable level of computer skills

DGT Employment and Training will support and pay for the right applicant to complete their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment along with the provision of time to attend workshops.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.  A current Working with Children Blue Card and National Police Check is required and can be arranged for the suitable applicant.
