About us:
Windaroo Valley State High is a co-educational State High School located in the northern end of the Gold Coast. The community consists of both established residential areas and areas of rapid growth. The school was established in 1994 and currently has approximately 1250 students in Years 7 - 12. Windaroo Valley is an inclusive school that offers a range of educational pathways with a strong academic focus. Our excellence programs in athletics (ACE), STEM, Japanese, Music and GTEK (Academic) ensure students in the Junior School have opportunities to be extended and challenged. Broad subject offering in the Senior School cater for the needs of our learners. The Trade Training Centre restaurant Valley Way provides students with industry standard vocational learning in hospitality.
Your role:
The successful candidate will work in a well established Trade Training Centre to deliver and assess the Certificate II in Cookery (SIT20421) with students in Years 10-12. The trainer will need the appropriate staff profile that allows them to deliver this course in compliance with audit requirements for vocational training. The trainer will need to work with students on a wide range of service periods including breakfasts, lunches and dinners, assisting with Hospitality classes supporting students or giving demonstrations and therefore hours will be flexible to meet the requirements of the role.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaise with Head of Department to manage events/functions
- Kitchen cleanliness and maintenance
- Stock control
- Shopping
- Menu preparation
- Other at the direction of HOD
