Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is the major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area of Western Australia. FSH is equipped with the very latest in technology and designed to provide the very best in patient care. It has 783 beds and offers a range of health services to adults and children. This includes the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
We are currently seeking seeking suitably qualified and experienced Nephologists. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will lead the provision of nephrology and renal transplantation services to patients.
In this role, you will promote personalised safe and timely care. You will actively address clinical risks and delays in patient care for individual patients. You will also educate and supervises junior medical staff and other health workers.
The Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation is one of the biggest tertiary renal services in the state. We have a 24 bed in-centre dialysis unit and a 24 bed inpatient ward. We look after nearly 600 dialysis patients (satellite unit and regional and remote centres) and ~600 long term renal transplant recipients. We also provide regional and rural visiting services and aboriginal people constitute a significant proportion of our patient population. We have a active teaching and research programme and well-rounded multidisciplinary team environment that fosters collegiality and clinical excellence.
