Consultant Psychiatrist - Hume

• Ongoing position (VMO role negotiable days/sessions available) 
• TELEHEALTH with some onsite presence at Shepparton or Albury/Wodonga and monthly travel in the region (Hume region).

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

Job location

Currently, Forensicare’s community services are based in metropolitan Melbourne and have limited ability to provide face-to-face services to people and service providers in regional areas. Our expansion into the Hume region will contribute to a more connected, compassionate mental health and criminal justice system. 

This role could be based in the Shepparton or Albury/Wodonga with travel in the region in Victoria, with potential opportunity to provide telehealth services for the region. You could also work at Forensicare’s Community Forensic Mental Health site at Clifton Hill. 

About the Role:

Exciting opportunity to contribute to the setting up of the regional team at Hume for a progressive, enthusiastic, and energetic psychiatrist with known interest in service development, shared care working and developing long lasting working partnerships with our regional mental health services.

The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide forensic mental health advice to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality direct care services and programs.

What you need:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent
• This position is subject to a Police Check.

The role is located in Shepparton, a major agricultural and manufacturing city, located a 2-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Hume is part of the wider roll out of regional model of forensic mental health services throughout Victoria in response to the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Mental Health Reform Victoria.
