  • Women's and Children's Health Network, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service - Multiple Locations (Adelaide Metropolitan Based)
  • Salary - Total Indicative Remuneration - Classification - MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant - $357,576 to $606,616 (subject to private practice arrangements) pro rata
  • Total Indicative Remuneration is inclusive of Award Salary, Superannuation, any relevant allowance and any other monetary benefits
  • Employment Full time/Part time - Ongoing Permanent / Term Contract (Multiple Positions available across Perinatal Infant Mental Health, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Community Psychiatry)

Overview
The Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.
We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA's largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provide important community-based services, of which the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is an integral part.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

The Opportunity
We currently have multiple exciting opportunities to join the CAMHS Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a full time capacity with a mixture of Permanent and Term contracts available based in the Adelaide Metropolitan area.
A permanent 0.6FTE position is currently available within the Perinatal Infant Mental Health Service Liaison Team. There are other opportunities in CAMHS such as CL Team and Community CAMHS. There are opportunities where increased FTE can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team of clinicians across one or more sites that will provide services to infants, children, young people and their families presenting to CAMHS teams.
  • Providing high level consultation as well as the provision of psychiatric assessment and therapeutic services as required.
  • Leading the delivery of evidence informed high quality specialist mental health services to infants, children, young people and their families (this will include multidisciplinary clinical leadership, clinical review structures, clinical supervision and consultation and the provision of psychiatric assessment and therapeutic services).

About You
To be eligible for this role, you will have a Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent and be registrable as a Psychiatrist with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA).
Those who are close to finish their training are also eligible to apply.
To be successful in this role, you will use your demonstrated clinical excellence in the speciality of child psychiatry and your demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team, including leading improvements in clinical outcomes and in implementing clinical change.

Have you had experience in successfully liaising and working cooperatively with a range of community organisations to ensure an appropriate continuum of care?
