ABOUT THE ROLE:
This newly created position will provide a passionate motivated midwifery leader the opportunity to lead, strengthen and grow Continuity of Care models at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg.
The role will have responsibility for the day to day operational management and support of midwives working in the well-established Maternity Group Practice (MGP) and team midwifery care models.
Mercy Hospital for Women will soon introduce a homebirth care model within the existing caseload program, this will provide an exciting new choice for women in 2024.
As the full time Continuity of Care Manager you will lead and develop midwives to provide evidence-based care in partnership with women and their families by:
- Working with senior leaders to manage MGP and team midwifery care models
- Providing strong leadership and clear communications.
- Coordinating and monitoring the day to day operations of MGP and team midwives.
- Monitoring standards of service and practice through clinical indicators and consumer satisfaction results
- Supporting and participating in the ACHS accreditation process and assessments and contribute to participate in relevant divisional Quality and Clinical Risk Management programs.
- Participating in developing and implementing a recruitment, retention and succession plan to achieve skill mix profile and FTE requirements
- Ensure that patients and consumers are actively involved in relevant planning and decision-making processes.
ABOUT YOU:
- You are a passionate experienced midwifery leader
- You have previous experience in caseload care
- You have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
- You have excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Registered as a Midwife with AHPRA with three years of relevant clinical experience and RANZCOG Level 3 accredited.
- It is desirable that you have a Masters or are working towards one
- You are credentialed in the following:
- Perineal repair IVC;
- FSE application;
- Newborn examination; and
- NeoResus first responder
