Contract Financial AccountantThe PositionAs a Contract Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Financial Controller in various accounting functions. The contract will be 3 months initially. There is a potential opportunity for this position to transition into permanent.Key Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining all accounting and related records.
• Providing support to the Financial Controller in producing monthly management accounts.
• Managing all areas of finance including financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and tax.
• Reviewing and improving financial reporting systems to ensure a high level of internal control.
• Meeting financial reporting requirements including monthly management reports and other requested reports.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts and profit and loss review.
• Ensuring completion of monthly General Ledger reconciliations.
• Handling vehicle administration and records maintenance.
• Preparing KPIs for monthly Board pack.
• Monthly cash flow reporting for the Board pack.
• Preparing and submitting BAS for each business and assisting with FBT preparation.
• Maintaining company fixed asset registers.
• Supporting the Financial Controller in annual budgeting, statutory accounts, and external audit requirements.
• Other tasks delegated by the Financial Controller.

Skills and Experience

• Degree in Accounting.
• CPA qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in maintaining and updating Policies and Procedures.
• Bank payment authorization in the absence of the Financial Controller.
• Internal Communication: Financial Controller, Group General Manager, Managing Director, Finance Team, Branches and Sales.
• External: Insurers, ATO, Relevant Government Bodies.
