Curragh Mine is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and located only 12 kilometres from the local township of Blackwater.
What You'll Do
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mining Contract Management Superintendent to join our Mining team at Curragh North. Reporting directly to the Curragh North Operations Manager, SSE, this pivotal leadership role entails ensuring the secure mining and transport of waste and coal through overseeing the successful delivery of post-award Contract Management within our Contract Management Framework. Your primary objective will be to maximise the benefits derived from contracts and generate sustainable value for Coronado through alignment and accountability of our major contract partner in working efficiently with other Curragh North operations and technical services. This will involve not only managing contracts but also providing guidance, coordination, and mentoring to our Contract Management team.
The Contract Management function will primarily focus on the mobilisation and management phases of the contract lifecycle, while also participating in the remaining phases. As the Contract Management Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations throughout these stages, ultimately contributing to the achievement of our organisational goals.
The keys to success in this role include:
- Ensure alignment of Contract Management procedures with the Contract Management framework, regularly reviewing processes for improvement opportunities and efficiencies.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and identify training needs for the Contract Management Team to facilitate their development.
- Review and manage claims from Contractor/s and ensure compliance to mine schedule.
- Ensure a seamless interface with between Curragh technical services team and contractors
- Utilise Coronado Curragh's Contract Management procedures to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and Coronado policies, while maximising contract productivity, minimising costs, and identifying/mitigating risks and opportunities.
What You'll Bring
- Qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce, or Engineering-related disciplines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within the mining sector.
- Extensive track record in Contract Management roles.
- Preferably experienced in the resources sector, particularly in open-cut mining.
- Strong commercial acumen, coupled with proficient Contract Management and analytical skills.
