Job description

Behind the front-line Police Officers of the Western Australia Police Force is a dedicated Public Service supporting the agency’s vision of providing an exceptional service for our Community.
Working for the WA Police Force is a rewarding and fulfilling career where you can really help to make a difference.
Through our contracts we procure a diverse range of goods for our many different business areas; Forensics, Police Air Wing, Canine and Mounted divisions, Training, and everything in between. We’re seeking the right people to manage these contracts and ensure we get the goods and services we need by working pro-actively with our internal team and our valued suppliers.
If you are looking for a career that makes a difference to the community, provides a range of experiences and exposure to many different procurements and contracts then apply now.
This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00947). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).
Currently there are two (2) full time positions available.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position assists in the development and management of contracts for goods, services and works, including information and communications technology and community services. Provides advice on contract governance and contract management. Ensures compliance with agreed terms and conditions, reviews and analyses vendor and stakeholder performance within polices, procedures and relevant legislation.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE
It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Please ensure you complete, sign and scan the Integrity Check Consent Form (refer attached) and submit it along with your application (the Integrity Check Consent Form is not required for current WA Police Force employees).
Applicants are not required to address the work related requirements at this stage of the selection process.
Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
It is important to note that your CV should be tailored to clearly outline that you possess transferrable skills and experience relevant to the advertised role. Your ability to demonstrate this will be a key factor in determining whether you are competitive.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to the above mentioned vacancies, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.
Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
