About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Contracts Administrator, the Contracts Administrator is accountable for the efficient and effective management of all project related commercial and contractual matters within the Business Unit. This includes day to day administration of the head contract and any project downstream contracts. Successful project delivery will be contingent upon the Contracts Administrator’s active leadership and participation in the key areas of project planning, project delivery, subcontractor management, risk management, project reporting and project close out.
Accountabilities
- Development of commercial and risk management strategies, plans, process flowcharts and pro-formas for accurate and effective management of Downer’s rights and entitlements under the head contract.
- Work with the project scheduling resources to ensure baseline schedule is developed and approved in accordance with the head contract programming requirements.
- Establish and maintain project registers in accordance with Downer’s Project Management procedures.
- Draft, submit and manage upstream and downstream claims.
- Assist project team with implementation of the project procurement strategy.
- Managing subcontractor progress claim certificates and ensuring that they are compliant with the terms of the subcontract and relevant Security of Payment legislation.
- Participate in detailed project reviews and assist in preparing relevant documentation.
- Bachelor of Business, Quantity Surveying, Laws or Engineering, or recognised prior industry learning suitable for this role.
- Familiarity with standard and bespoke industry forms of contract and their negotiation and operative effects.
- Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions.
- Negotiation and influencing to achieve desired outcomes.
- Understand contract terms and conditions.
- Experience in claim management.
- Awareness of the commercial and legal issues impacting upon the delivery of projects and awareness of project management, contract management, risk management and financial management principles utilised in the management of the project.
