As a Contracts Administrator based in Brisbane, you will support contract administration for this world leading program, ensuring seamless project execution. Your responsibilities include monitoring budgets, assessing variations, and drafting contract correspondence. Collaborate closely with the Lead Commercial and Project Delivery team to address contractual issues and ensure compliance with established systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer correspondence register, ensuring timely recording and distribution.
- Prepare high-standard contractual correspondence.
- Undertake contract administration duties, including progress claim verification and payment certificate issuance.
- Prepare commercially acceptable contract documents on approved templates.
- Support contractual establishment and control mechanisms interfacing with Finance and other business units.
- Process progress claims, variations, and disputes, liaising with Legal Counsel as needed.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts for new procurement packages.
- Ensure accurate and compliant progress claims and payment certificates.
- Monitor contracts and contractors in conjunction with Commercial and Project Delivery Teams.
- Manage contract securities and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Complete month-end contract reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- The ideal candidate must possess an understanding, capability, and experience in navigating the complexities, delays, and bureaucracy inherent in federal government dealings.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of contract law and experience administering construction agreements in a large business environment.
- Effective analytical, strategic, and planning skills.
- Significant experience with purchasing, contracts, or finance systems in a large national company.
- Experience or exposure to construction packages and knowledge of construction contracts.
- Extensive experience managing contractors and suppliers against performance criteria.
- Strong team player with resilience in conflict situations and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sound understanding of the State Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Acts.
- Ethical practices and probity within a large organisation.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, law, engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in the rail industry.
- Experience using PRISM G2 and Document Management Systems (Aconex).
