Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mine in the world and we operate the world’s largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia – so you are joining a unique team! As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.
Lynas is embarking on an expansion in Western Australia, and we have an opportunity for a driven Contracts and Procurement Specialist wanting to join us on our journey. Lynas have begun a $500M project to expand the capacity at the Mt Weld mine and concentration plant to meet accelerating market demand for rare earth minerals. In this exciting position, you will provide an effective procurement execution and contracts function for the Mt Weld Expansion Project. This is a fixed term 12 month contract, based in Perth with occasional site visits as required.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:
- Compile, Coordinate and Execute Requests for Quotation, Expressions of Interest, and Invitations
- Compile pricing schedules with a view to maximizing negotiation power
- Construct negotiation matrices to understand vendor motivations
- Construct bills of materials and quantities for vendor supplied equipment
- Develop and implement robust and effective processes, procedures, and systems to improve on procurement efficiency over existing processes.
- Develop, implement, and manages service level agreements for the procurement of goods, services, and leases.
- Develop, implement and manage quantity surveying/monitoring/quality assurance function
- Proactively manage Project Team relationship with suppliers through formal and informal processes and communications.
What you will bring to the team:
- Relevant experience in supplier and contract management preferably in mining/construction/Civil industry
- Knowledge of using software packages such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Words are essential
- Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management processes
- Familiarity with tax and duties legislation and best practice
Qualifications and/or Skills:
- Degree in Engineering or Science related field
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
