The Contract Manager in APAC works under the direction of theRegionalLegalServicesLead APACto support the CSL enterprise with:
- ActingasaneffectiveliaisontotheCSLBusinessPartnersbyprovidinglegaladviceandsupportthroughthe contracting lifecycle.
- Deliveringhighquality,efficientandstreamlinedcontractingsupportforlegalservices.
RESPONSIBILITIESANDACCOUNTABILITIES
- Independently draft, review and negotiate end to end, a variety of standard agreements applicable to the APAC region (such as Master Services Agreements, Health Care Professional contracts, Confidential Disclosure Agreements, Data Processing Agreements amongst others) in a qualitative and timely manner.
- Develop & maintain templates for standard agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Identify optimization opportunities to gain more efficient legal services support to the business
- Develop and deliver training content related to standard agreements to Business Partners.
- Develop and maintain content for FAQs on standard agreement templates and processes.
- Provide solutions focused, high-quality and timely legal support to Business Partners regarding a range of legal issues and act as a liaison with the different departments to ensure effective issue resolution.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the agreements by effectively using the company’s contract lifecycle management platform.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Laws degree or J.D. or equivalent foreign degree.
- Admission to legal practice in Australia.
- Admission to the PRC Bar a plus.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of agreements in a reputable law firm or international corporate setting. Experience as legal counsel in biotech or pharmaceutical industry a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
- Strong contracts drafting, negotiation and communication skills (in English and Chinese).
- Strong understanding of commercial contracting.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with internal Legal Partners, Business Partners and external parties with tact and diplomacy to achieve strategic business objectives, with minimum supervision.
- Team player and able to work independently.
- Strong technical capability, including ability to provide high-quality advice and manage agreements through its lifecycle from start through execution independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong business acumen and judgement.
- Eye for detail and ability to work collaboratively in an international environment.
- Strong computer literacy including competency in Microsoft Office suite; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and systems.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities of the enterprise in the region.
- Ability to maintain composure and have a balanced and agile mind set.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement with a strong business focus.
- Some domestic and/or international travel may be required.
