THE ROLE
The Contract Manager for Snowy Hydro will have a formal Legal Degree with experience working at both client and large subcontractor level with the ability to travel to Cooma 1-2 weeks per month. The Contract Manager will be hands on and guiding & mentoring the team on all contractual matters. You will also have experience with open book, alliance style and collaborative contracting.
- Report to the General Manager Commercial & Contracts & acting as his 2IC in his absence.
- Manage the bank account of site Branch Office and fulfill the bank transactions according to company policies
- Provide on-site guidance and mentoring on commercial /contractual issues and legal compliance matters.
- Support claim management & subcontracting (procurement) process for large erection packages from a technical and contractual perspective
- Preparing monthly review of project related claims and maintenance.
- Manage weekly meetings with subcontractors (progress, performance, risks and opportunities, contractual issue review, invoicing, etc.) and issue minutes of meeting and drive agreed actions.
- Formal legal degree - Bachelor Degree or Masters. Preference for some time spent actually practicing as a lawyer in projects/contracts
- Experience at client and/or contractor levels (and maybe also large subcontractor level) with Mega Projects $1B +
- Experience with open book, alliance style and collaborative contracting. Preference this be gained from contractor side
- Available for 5+ year project and able to travel 1-2 weeks per month to work from Cooma

Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
