SecureEnergy, an Elecnor led project, has been awarded the engineering, construction, and procurement contract for Transgrid’s EnergyConnect project. The scope of the project includes a new 700km Transmission Line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border, one new and two upgraded substations and five newly built accommodation camps.

This role is located in the Mildura area, and would suit a someone who is seeking a FIFO role from Melbourne, on a 14:7 roster.
The Role
In this role, you will be part of a well resourced team, who are responsible for all commercial and contract matters on the project, as assigned by the Commercial Manager
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Tendering, negotiation and formation of assigned subcontracts
- Execute the project subcontracting strategy for assigned subcontracts
- Review project budget and ensure adequate allocation to subcontracts to reflect subcontracting strategy on project
- Preparation of all claims and variations for the adjustment of compensation and time under the assigned subcontracts
- Management and resolution of all claims with subcontractors / suppliers in accordance with Contract Formation and Administration Operating Standards
- Review and certification of subcontractor’s progress payment claims in accordance with the timeframes under the relevant subcontract
- Provide input to cost control and forecasting of final cost at completion position for assigned subcontracts
- Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews on a minimum monthly frequency that are relevant to assigned subcontracts
- Participate in progress meetings with assigned subcontractors to ensure all outstanding commercial and contract matters are dealt with in accordance with the time frames prescribed in the subcontract
- Liaise with Insurance and Commercial Advisor to ensure all notifications of insurance claims or potential insurance claims are provided to SecureEnergy’s insurance brokers
Your skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying, law, construction management, or economics preferred.
- Ideally 8+ years in engineering or construction industry, with direct experience on large value projects
- Experience in managing subcontracts within lump sum projects or projects which require extensive management of performance and delivery risk.
This will be a FIFO office based role, in Buronga (near Mildura). Please also note, this is a 2 year fixed term contract role.
