Job Description
Acciona has been selected by TfNSW to design and deliver the Singleton Bypass project. This major project will see construction of 8.4 km of single lane highway with 6 bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections and improvements to commute times through the area.
ACCIONA is now looking for a Contracts Manager to join our Singleton Bypass team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for a wide range of commercial functions including procurement, cost management, value management, contract administration, and the optimization of margin.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Lead the project team to develop and ensure procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the program, procurement schedule, company policies, processes and procedures, and limits of authority.
- Professional management of; Tender Probity, State Government Procurement Policy, Commercial Governance, auditing & reporting, and Business Risk Management.
- Lead the implementation of the Procurement Strategy.
- Supervising progress claims, accruals, forecasts, and final accounts
- Oversee contractual processes including establishment, award, execution, and payment.
- Review and respond to all contractual correspondence.
- Weekly and monthly reporting for commercial trends, expenditures, and performance
- Liaise with senior management providing advice to minimize commercial risk.
- Supervise and mentor the contract administration team.
Required Skills and Competencies
Relevant tertiary qualifications strongly preferred but not essential
Demonstrated experience in a similar role (10+ years)
A sound understanding of construction processes and contracts
Experience in major construction projects highly beneficial
Sound commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation/dispute resolution skills
High attention to detail
Ability to work well with others and demonstrate leadership skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Packages in particular Excel.
