The reason for this role:
The Contracts Manager is accountable for managing the contractual and commercial activities which support the delivery of renewable energy projects in Australia.
What you will be doing?
- Support the Senior Contracts and Commercial Project Manager and bid team to ensure high quality and conforming bids are presented to customers.
- Manage the preparation and negotiation of client and supply chain contracts to execution, including project cost estimates, cash flow and contract schedules.
- Obtain competitive supply of goods and services for projects with risk profile that matches company requirements.
- Prepare contract templates for use across multiple projects and manage the document control of all project contracts.
- Establish or maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Ensure the commercial risk position (back-to-back) is adequately managed through upstream and downstream tender phases and in the lead up to client contract & subcontract negotiations.
What does your background look like?
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline. Contract law qualifications will be highly regarded.
- A background in the Wind, power or construction industry beneficial.
- Proven track record of executing a contract from Kick off to close out of contracts.
- Excellent commercial acumen with managing and negotiating with different stakeholders throughout the project i.e., transport, logistics, WTG Installation, equipment supply, client construction and operation contracts to name but a few.
- You will have strong relationship management experience – clients, contractors, service providers and government agencies.
- A solid background as a Contracts Manager or Quantity Surveyor working on projects in a remote region beneficial.
