As part of our commitment to continually increasing our internal capability and in alignment with the Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan (CSP), a permanent opportunity now exists for an experienced Contracts Specialist to join our evolving Corporate Services Directorate.  

As the Contracts Specialist (Construction), you will partner with stakeholders to provide specialised advice and assistance in tendering, procurement and managing high value contracts. The aim is to ensure staff meet their legislative obligations for procurement and tendering, as well as, managing the commercial risk exposure for (primarily) engineering and construction related contracts.

You will also play a key role in driving improvements in the probity and governance of City of Newcastle's (CN) procurement. One of your key objectives in this position is to deliver higher legislative compliance, better value from procurement decision-making and improved performance from contracts.
