Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded.
As a part of the broader EREA family, the organisation is shaped by the four touchstones of the EREA Charter: Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, Liberating Education, and Justice and Solidarity.
EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is a new organisation, having formally come into effect on 1 January 2023. As such, 2023 is a time of transition and establishment, with a need for the development of new teams, structures, processes and systems.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Risk and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing the successful implementation and improvement of risk, compliance and safety programs, systems and processes by working with and providing advice and support to the Director of Risk and Compliance, National Leadership Team, Regional Directors, Area Principals and Principals and act under the direction of the Director or Risk and Compliance. This position is continuing, full time.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.
- Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
- Appropriate qualifications (bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. commerce, business, risk management or related discipline) and relevant professional experience.
- Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.
- Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an influential and a key support and change agent in the creation of Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding cultures across Education settings.
- Proven experience of delivering high quality internal audits and reviews.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and Quality Assurance processes, process improvement within an education environment, or clearly evident ability to do so.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an influential and a key support and change agent in the creation of Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding cultures across Education settings.
- Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise and work autonomously.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks related to Education, Risk Management, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suit of programs, including Excel and Power BI.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to obtain all Working with Children Checks nationally.
