About the Branch

The Office of the CEO is responsible for supporting the CEO in the oversight of the City Administration as a high-performing customer focused organisation delivering value for money and services for our community. The Office of the CEO’s team works with all areas of Council and external stakeholders including Council’s Controlled Entities. 

About your new role

The Controlled Entities Unit provide governance, reporting and contractual support to Council’s Controlled Entities, such as Experience Gold Coast. 
 
This exciting new position will be responsible for providing support to the Coordinator Controlled Entities in the oversight and management of Council’s Controlled Entities including corporate governance, contract review and drafting, contract management activities, relationship management, reporting and compliance.

Duties will include:

• Manage corporate documents with ASIC.
• Provide advice on Controlled Entities under the supervision of the Coordinator Controlled Entities.
• Review and continuous improvement of the policies and procedures relevant to the role.  
• Maintain registers of relevant contracts, resolutions, policies and statutory matters.
• Contract and relationship management.
• Assist in preparation of Council reports, contract drafting and reviewing.

We're looking for people who have:

You will have a high level of confidentiality and the ability to manage sensitive information and situations. Experience liaising with boards or working groups will be highly regarded. 

You will possess an advanced level of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), a sound knowledge of data management systems and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly. A general understanding of contract management principles, contract or corporations law will be highly regarded. A background in legal services, such as a junior lawyer or paralegal would be advantageous.
