Your Role
We are seeking an experienced, inspiring and passionate Centre Cook to join our team at Harmony Yarrabilba One and embark on a wonderful new journey with us. This is a full time position, working around 6:00am-2:30pm.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the health and wellbeing of the children through the planning and preparation of nutritious meals and snacks.
- Carrying out the preparation of food for the children at the Centre.
- Ensuring the kitchen environment and equipment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Ordering and purchasing of ingredients and supplies
- Liaising with suppliers and maintain professional relationships
- Communicating with Educators regarding specific dietary requirements of children and assisting them with clearing away after meals.
- Implementing the menu for the service on a timely basis taking into consideration Harmony's Food and Nutrition policies
- Ensuring all food safety compliance documentation is completed.
About You
Mealtimes and food is a pivotal piece in children's learning and development. We are looking for the right person but desirable experience and qualifications you may hold are:
- Experience in understanding the financial parameters of food preparation, planning and managing appropriately to deliver on these
- Demonstrated responsibility accountability for food preparation area
- A thorough understanding of different dietary requirements and a solutions-focused approach to serving food so that the needs of all children are catered for
- Excellent time and priority management, and professionalism
- Safety Food Handling Certification
- Previous experience in nutrition and dietary requirements of children within a childcare setting
- Current Working with Children Check/Blue card, Driver's License, First Aid Certificate and Asthma/Anaphylactic training
