About the Role
As one of the fastest growing regions in Australia (and a delivery partner in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games), we’re excited about the opportunities this will bring for our growing community.
We’re transforming from regional centre to regional city with over 8000 people moving to the region each year. We expect the region to over 500,000 residents by 2041.
Our Development Services branch is focused on leading, coordinating and managing the audit of all forms of development planning appeals, building and development compliance investigations across the Sunshine Coast region.
To be successful in this role you will provide leadership and management of the team in the delivery of planning appeals and compliance functions positioning the team to meet its business objectives while balancing community expectations.

- Contribute positively at an operational and strategic level to statutory compliance, policies, strategy, business and operational plans, change management, business decision-making, growth management and all other leadership initiatives.
About you
Tertiary qualifications or the equivalent in development assessment functions such as urban planning or management, audition and regulatory environment will be valued.
Coupled with the demonstrated ability to operate in a political environment within a local or state group.
You will have a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, policies, planning scheme and state government codes, in particular those associated with planning appeals, development offences, enforcement, notices, orders and legal proceedings.
