The Parks & Recreation Team are the secret behind the Toowoomba Region’s beautiful parks and gardens. With over 7000 hectares of public gardens, bushland park, sports and recreation facilities and other open space and an extensive urban forest, the Toowoomba region is well known for its liveability and green infrastructure.
The Parks and Recreation Services Branch is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining our beautiful green infrastructure, some of which is heritage listed, and keeping up with the strong growth across the region. The team is a diverse mix of approximately 200 people working as labourers, gardeners, arborists, horticulturalists, plant operators, rangers, cleaners, project managers, landscape architects, administrators, regulators and their managers and leaders.
About the position
The Coordinator Conservation and Pest Management Services position will be responsible for assisting the Principal Conservation and Pest Management in establishing a strategic direction for bushland parks and conservation and Pest Management activities. This will include development of Biosecurity plans, the Bushland Parks Strategy, park management plans, Pest Management plans, fire management plans, park activation plans, and supervision of regulatory and planning and technical staff. An important contribution will be to ensure Bushland Parks are adequately priortised and represented in the Toowoomba Region Open Space Strategy and to establish and implement Operating Service Standards for Bushland Parks.
This position will work closely with the Manager Parks and Recreation Services, the Principal Park Strategy, the Principal Conservation and Pest Management and the Coordinator Conservation and Pest Management Operations.
This position will work under limited direction.
- The salary range for this position is $91,002.71 - $97,075.32 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- This is a Permanent Full time position based at our Principal Depot in Charlton.
