About the role
The successful candidate will lead a resilient, customer focused and resourceful IT Applications team that continuously improves operational practices and delivers a well maintained, secure and compliant IT architecture during the transition to Software as a Service (SaaS).
You will coordinate workforce planning and appropriate professional development for the team, to ensure that the required skills and capabilities are developed to support the organisation’s transition to SaaS and iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service).
The Coordinator IT Applications will coordinate the functions, priorities, and activities of the IT Applications Team, ensuring customers are well informed and providing an escalation point for changes, projects, and Service Desk tickets. They will exercise sound commercial leadership and develop and maintain strategic relationships with vendors to supplement internal capabilities and ensure contractual compliance and mutual benefit.

- Sound knowledge of emerging and innovative technologies for local government.
- Working knowledge of the ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of local government policy, programs, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of responsibilities in creating and maintaining Child Safe environments.
Experience
- Demonstrated success in leading, developing and motivating a high performing team.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a demanding and complex IT applications environment with a substantial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) footprint.
- Demonstrated experience in the operational management of cloud-based IT platforms and SaaS.
- Proven experience in managing the IT applications lifecycle and maintaining robust change management processes.
- Proven experience with project management of large, complex software and ERP upgrades.
- Experience in the development of strategic and business plans.
- Experience in research, analysis, and report writing.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a relevant discipline, and/or at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
