  • Maximum Term, part-time role until 30 June 2025
  • 60.8 hours per fortnight (Hours will usually be across 4 days. However, flexible arrangements are available)
  • Based in Carnarvon

About the Role

Ngala is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the position of Coordinator Parenting Connection WA - Gascoyne.

Our preferred applicant will be experienced in working with families and be able to identify areas of need.

The successful candidate will be proactive and have the ability to work collaboratively across all departments ensuring the focus is always on quality and best practice.

As the Coordinator you will:

  • Lead and facilitate a comprehensive community engagement and planning process to inform the development of Parenting Connection WA in the Gascoyne region
  • In collaboration with local community members and other service providers, develop and implement an agreed action plan of integrated services and activities for families with children aged 0-18 years in the Gascoyne region
  • Oversee in the administration of the Parenting Capacity Fund, under the guidance of the Local Area Partnership Group and the PCWA Service Development Unit
  • Facilitate and guide activities of Ngala staff and other providers to meet contract requirements and service plans in line with budget and strategic discussions
  • Work in partnership with Senior Coordinator - PCWA and Parenting Connection WA Service Development Unit

About You

The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:

  • Possess relevant qualifications in Human Services, child development, community development or similar discipline
    or
    Qualifications and/or significant experience in a relevant field(s) including but not limited to:
    - Child Health Nurse and/or Midwifery
    - Early Childhood Education
    - Occupational Therapy
    - Psychology - developmental, child
    - Social Work
  • Intermediate Administration level of competency
  • Intermediate IT level of competency
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience in strengths based/capacity building and community development
  • Effective strategic planning and project management skills and commits to action
  • Demonstrated leadership capability including the ability to broker relationships and partnerships
  • Well-developed self-management skills and adopts a positive and balanced approach to work
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, advocacy and group facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience in effectively engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families (CaLD)
  • Strong local knowledge and connection to the region
  • Experience in child/family or community development sector including knowledge of service planning, development and evaluation
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunities and Occupational Health
  • Effective Communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrated self-awareness and commitment to personal development
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills

If you are successful in this position you will need to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).
