About the RoleThe Coordinator, Research Operations is a member of team that provides high quality coordination across the College's network of Schools, and research Centres and Groups. The Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with Research leaders in DSC including Centre Directors, Research Group leaders and the Managers/Senior Managers, Planning and Operations on a range of operational tasks that support the College's Research Centres and Groups. In addition, the incumbent collaborates with key University stakeholders such as the Research and Innovation (R&I) Portfolio, and the International and Engagement Portfolio, to coordinate the effective promotion of Research Centres and Groups and their activities.To be successful in this position, you'll have:
  • Demonstrated experience in an operations or administrative role within a research environment.
  • A demonstrated customer focus with excellent oral and written communications skills and high level interpersonal skills, including proven ability to negotiate with internal and external parties, bringing timely conclusions to matters whilst operating within the broad policy requirements of the University.
  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the tertiary education sector

College research leaders include the Associate Deputy Vice- Chancellor Research, the Associate Dean Research & Innovation in each of the 8 schools, Research Centre directors and Research group leaders.The Associate Dean Research and Innovation (AD R&I) is a critical leadership role in each school and is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of the School Research Plan, which is aligned to the College and University research plans and targets. The Associate Dean R&I fosters an active school research culture and environment that attracts high quality researchers and HDR students, in collaboration with Group Leaders and Centre Directors.The College has 6 research centres,

  • Centre for Urban Research
  • Digital Ethnography Research Centre
