JOB DESCRIPTION
An exciting opportunity exists to join our team and play an important role in Respect Victoria, leading and driving long term systemic change in the prevention of family violence and all forms of violence against women.
Reporting to the Communications and Community Change Manager, the Coordinator, Social Media will be responsible for leading innovative and comprehensive Social Media engagement to address the drivers of family violence/violence against women. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating effective Social Media strategies, initiatives and tasks including developing and delivering relevant systems, processes and products across all Social Media channels, and to plan, design, create and publish engaging and relevant content in line with the agency’s mandate. As a story-teller, you will actively engage with and build Respect Victoria’s online community, reporting monthly on channel engagement and staying up to date with Social Media tools, trends and research, and work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure communications are evidence-based and effective in driving long-term cultural change.

Respect Victoria was established as a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018 on the 4th October 2018. We have a broad focus on the primary prevention of family violence and violence against women in Victoria, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide state-wide leadership to create social, institutional, organisational and community change.

Essential qualifications: Tertiary qualification in communications, writing, digital media, marketing or another related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Essential skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering Social Media content for 3-5 years focused on prevention, social change or similar field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of Social Media monitoring and evaluation techniques, including the use of monitoring tools like Social Sprout
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills and attention to detail
Essential expertise
- Demonstrated experience designing and creating visual content for different Social Media platforms, using tools like Canva, Photoshop or other design software
- Relevant expertise in, or exposure to, developing and delivering communications in a government context
