About the role
Yarra Ranges Council is looking for a Project Coordinator for our Preparing Australian Communities resilience project.
Through seven key programs, PAC program aims to increase the community's ability to mitigate, avoid, withstand and recover from the effects of bushfires, floods or storm, which are increasing in frequency as a result of climate change.
This role is a critical program co-ordination position that not only leads the Place-based Resilience Planning to strengthen and prepare the townships of Monbulk, Healesville, and Yarra Junction against bushfires. The Project co-ordinator role ensures the Preparing Australia Communities (PAC) program of works, progresses resilience outcomes under the federal grant.

Responsibilities:
- Manage internal project stakeholder governance, engagement, and communication, including overseeing the project steering committee and multi-disciplinary project team.
- Co-ordinate reporting of program milestones into Federal government
- Lead the delivery of the Place Based Resilience Planning project from inception to completion.
- Drive community engagement initiatives within Monbulk, Healesville, and Yarra Junction.
- Facilitate excellent communication and collaboration throughout all project phases.
- Liaise with external agency stakeholders and subject matter experts to support community conversations and ensure project success.
- Foster strong working relationships between all parties involved.
- This role will lead one direct report.
What you'll bring to our team
- Proven experience in project management and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to lead and coordinate diverse project teams effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Knowledge of disaster risk and natural hazards in the Victorian context
- Knowledge of emergency management procedures and willingness to undertake related roles and activities during times of crisis.

- Option to take up a monthly RDO.
- Full-time temporary position until June 2025 (38 hours per week). This role is grant funded under the Preparing Australian Communities Program.
- Salary range between $104,000 and $116,000 (Band 7) per annum, plus superannuation.
