Noosa Council has a clear purpose, to work with and for the community to continue to make Noosa a great place to live, work and visit. The focus of Council’s 2023-2028 Corporate Plan is on protecting the amenity of Noosa and preserving the rich natural environment for the future.
On the path to creating a sustainable shire, in 2021 Noosa Council adopted a new local law for Short Stay letting and home hosted accommodation. The new local law now regulates and manages the ongoing use of Short Stay letting to manage the impacts on permanent residents and residential amenity will promoting tourism and visitors through a local management framework.
THE ROLE
As Coordinator-Short Stay Compliance, you will lead the team who are ensuring the preservation and protection of residential amenities, and ensuring all properties operating Short Stay letting and home hosted accommodation are lawful and adhere to Local Laws. You will also provide sound advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding Short Stay letting and implement a continuous improvement framework to improve efficiency and service delivery.
In addition, you will work closely with the Manager Development Assessment in providing the leadership to drive and encourage a performance-focused, team-oriented culture.
ABOUT YOU
This is a unique opportunity in a unique location.
You will bring to this role previous demonstrated experience in a regulatory or oversight role within a fast-paced customer focused environment. Whilst not essential, previous knowledge of land use compliance and enforcement would be beneficial, particularly regarding Local Laws.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with well-developed leadership skills who is passionate about delivering quality outcomes. You will bring with you a hands-on approach, be pro-active in building cultures you are proud of and exposure to working within a complex service delivery environment.
It is further expected that the successful applicant will hold relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in a relevant field e.g. development compliance or similar regulatory field.
