The Department

The Unscripted team is responsible for all of SBS’s original unscripted Australian content. From ground-breaking factual series, to innovative single documentaries, from quiz shows to major events such as Eurovision. Our commissions all explore and celebrate multicultural Australia.

The Role

This role proactively supports our team of Commissioning Editors working in Unscripted content.

Reporting into the Head of Documentaries within our TV and Online Content team this role will see you liaising with talent eager to work with SBS. As a Coordinator with industry experience your day will involve:

• Managing internal administrative processes to set the teams up for success ranging from diary management to organising small scale industry initiative events, conferences, and panels to enhance opportunities for SBS to link into talent and create content.
• Building and enhancing working relationships within the sector including scheduling meet and greets for the Unscripted team to access talent pitches and development requests from external companies.
• Joining the Commissioning team on meetings with production companies to enhance the working relationships and keeping the teams on track with your diligent note keeping.
• It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

• As a Coordinator with industry experience you thrive on your ability to check the boxes and ensure the team has what it needs to succeed by both asking and by pre-empting the teams’ requirements.
• As a confident communicator, you utilise your skillset both verbal and written to build on existing relationships through your networks and enhance the experience for your new team at SBS.
• You complete your tasks effectively by leveraging your own experience and by utilising the full Microsoft Office Suite to produce quality communication for the teams you will support.
