• Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (minimum Certificate V) or equivalent
• Demonstrated understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Trees (Disputes between Neighbours) Act 2006, Rural Fires Act 1997, Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and Biosecurity Act 2015
• Experience in leading a team of specialised staff and staff development
• Experience in the preparation of tender specifications, contracts, service agreements and the ability to achieve outcomes within budget and to defined timeframes/service levels
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contract management and project management
• Ability to review processes and procedures applied to improve service delivery
• Ability to write analytical and logical reports drawing justified conclusions

Desirable:

• Post graduate qualifications/training in a related management field
• Understanding of local government procedures and statutory requirements
• Experience with Asset Management Software and GIS
