About the team
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Waste and Resource Recovery Branch of our Environment, Heritage and Resilience Department. This position is in our Waste and Resource Recovery Planning business unit, working with other areas of the Branch and key internal and external stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference for the Gold Coast in one of the commercial business areas of the City.
About your new role
This role leads a team of project managers that design new and improved Waste and Resource Recovery Services for the City. Key deliverables include:
- Leading a team of customer-focused project managers delivering a range of Waste and Resource Recovery Service improvement trials, investigations, and expansion projects.
- Programme managing the portfolio of service improvement trials, investigations, and expansion projects.
- Liaising with waste operations functions and other stakeholders as part of delivering trials and investigations and transitioning trials into ongoing service operations where appropriate.
- Coordinating service plan development, maintenance and reporting for Waste and Recycling Centres, Landfills, public place services and Waste and Resource Recovery collection services.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to support financial, rating and budget considerations are accounted for in Service Planning.
- Coordinating service and customer data and analysis to ensure Service Planning aligns with customer demand.
- Liaising with State Government and other Local Government Areas to align to Waste and Resource Recovery-related legislation, regulation and targets.
- Liaising with external contractors regarding processing and end-market changes that impact Service Planning.
- Supporting our business investment areas in attract Waste and Resource Recovery businesses to the Gold Coast.
- Supporting the leadership team with items related to strategic decision-making and service impacts.
We're looking for people who have:
- Has experience with waste management, Service Planning or portfolio management.
- Excels in relationship management and people leadership.
- Has experience in dealing with State and Federal government bodies.
- Can communicate with different stakeholders.
- Can develop reports and presentations to inform and influence decision-making.
- Has a Bachelor degree in Business, Science, Engineering or Project Management or Equivalent Knowledge
- Hold a Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
