The role
The Coordinator Waste and Street Cleaning Operations will be responsible for:
Leading and management of all functions of the Waste Operations Unit
Coordination of the Waste and Street Cleaning Operations team, ensuring team KPI’s can be met.
Staff development including training and positive culture promotion.
Budget preparation and financial management of the unit.
Fleet and equipment management including sweeper and waste collection vehicles.
Contract Management including Green Waste Processing, Recycling Processing, Glass Collection & Processing, Bin Supply, and Bin Delivery and Repair.
To initiate and continually update the policies and standards for the provision of Waste Operations.
To ensure the provision of timely, accurate and courteous advice to customers and clients
This full-time position has a Band 7 annualised salary package range from $106,661 to $118,112 per annum inclusive of allowances plus statutory superannuation.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications and experience as listed in the position description
Demonstrated experience in all facets of waste collection and street cleaning programs.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge of service type contract management principles in a local government context.
Highly developed information technology skills including spreadsheets, database, and GIS.
Proven ability to develop, direct, mentor and motivate a customer service focused team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communications, consultation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to successfully negotiate and resolve conflicts.
Competent financial reporting and time management skills.
