We are currently seeking an experienced waste management professional to join our Environment and Health team. Reporting to the Manager Environmental and Health Services, the Coordinator Waste Services will play an integral role in coordinating and delivery of the Council’s main waste collection and disposal services.
About the role:
Project manage capital and operational works required to achieve licence and best practice compliance. Co-ordinate the planning, development, rehabilitation and aftercare of Council’s landfill in accordance with licence conditions and the Environment Protection Act, including all statutory reporting requirements. Co-ordinate the implementation of objectives and actions associated with the proposed North Queensland Waste Strategy. Contribute to the development and monitoring of annual budgets and operational plans for the Waste Services Section. Take responsibility for the development, implementation and review of Council’s Waste Services policies and procedures. Coordinate the development of a strategic plan for the long-term management and treatment of existing closed landfills and the implementation thereof.

The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 7 ($115,645pa) with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
