About your new branch:
Located in the Planning and Regulation Department, the City Development Branch promotes sustainable development throughout the city that benefits the residents and the environment. The Branch is responsible for the management and assessment of customer development applications, including the provision of planning and building advice, development assessment and improvement, infrastructure change review, developer contributions, infrastructure compliance and planning appeals and research.
About your new role:
As Coordinator of Water & Waste Assessment you will manage the assessment section to ensure that developer contributed assets are designed in accordance with the Gold Coast City Plan and relevant water and waste standards and specifications. In this role you will work under the direction of the Manager Engineering and Landscape Assessment.
Responsibilities of the role include (but limited to):
- Provide direction to Assessment Officers in relation to the assessment of development applications; Material Change of Use (MCU), Reconfiguration of Lot (ROL) and Operational Works (OPW) with a focus on Water & Waste matters.
- Review officers work outputs.
- Provision of technical advice to Planners and other internal sections of the City.
- Management of staff.
- Resolve escalation of matters.
What you bring to your new role:
- You hold a Bachelor Degree of Civil/ Structural Engineering or Town Planning or Equivalent Knowledge.
- Excellent ability to manage staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and implement engineering standards and associated legislation.
- Ability to interpret and implement planning legislation as it relates to the assessment of development applications.
- Positive attitude towards feedback and personal development.
