About the role
NSW LRS is currently undertaking a significant uplift of its website and requires a Copywriter & Content Manager to work with our project delivery team and subject matter experts across the organisation to review, edit, write, produce and manage the approvals of the content for the new website.
This position requires a skilled and adaptable professional who possesses strong communications expertise and can effectively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels to support the successful delivery of this project.
The role reports to the Director, Corporate Affairs and Marketing and also works closely with the Program Manager and Business Analyst, as well as leaders and subject experts from across all our teams, in particular the Operations, Customer Growth and Legal teams.
Responsibilities
This role’s primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and delivery of the content strategy, writing and brand strategy for the website, as well as coordination of content review and approval and project management of new content production. The core responsibilities include:
- Content strategy – with consideration to the project objectives, assist the project team with advice on content strategy and site layout recommendations.
- Brand profiling and tone of voice execution - develop an in-depth understanding of the NSW LRS unique brand voice to use across the website content.
- Content research and brief planning – research existing website content and information architecture (IA), understand the current state and future state needs. Identify content gaps and develop a content map for reporting purposes. Prepare content briefs where gaps exist and manage the development and production of the content with either internal stakeholders or creative agencies where required.
- Copy and Content editing - reviewing, editing and proofreading existing and new content. Undertake copy writing for new content where required.
- Website, SEO and brand copywriting – own the copywriting briefs end-to-end, distil complex subjects into compelling, on-brand and on-brief pieces of copywriting. Manage approvals of content to be published.
- Content management and authoring – prepare any necessary documentation for content migration to the new website, take a key role in ensuring content is published correctly. Content authoring may be hands on and coordinating other content owners to assist with the content authoring using the new CMS.
- Reporting – provide regular reporting to the project team on the content migration and Content strategy progress. Coordinate with other content owners to ensure a holistic approach to content migration.
Required Experience
- 4+ years' experience as a copywriter, content writer, Content Manager, or similar.
- Experience working in a project team and complex environment
- Strong experience in website content, copywriting, working within time frames, SEO content writing and digital marketing.
- Exceptional ability to communicate, build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.
- A solid understanding of content marketing best practice, confidence in making strategic recommendations and executing best-in-class content creation.
- A good understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to craft written content that keeps Google and readers happy across web platforms.
- Ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated proactive and positive approach to work
- Experience using a website CMS
