Our client is a leading wholesale provider of reinsurance, insurance and other insurance-based forms of risk transfer. The company is currently looking for a Corporate Actuary The role will be in the Life Insurance Valuation Team with experience in delivering non-BAU tasks.This is a 12-month fixed term contract based in Sydney.Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the design and implementation of end user tools which work alongside the group production valuation and systems to enhance the analysis and management reporting under IFRS17;
- Drive the migration of local reporting onto the group solution for IFRS17;
- Improving the robustness and integrity of the APRA reporting process;
- Support projects such as the annual business plan and target capital review, stress and scenario testing and;
- Ad hoc projects related to valuation and reporting.
- Qualified as FIAA or equivalent – candidates who are almost qualified as fellow will also be considered
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in corporate actuarial or life & health insurance industry;
- At least 2 years in Australian or New Zealand MoS Life Insurance valuations and local capital requirements, with knowledge of the Australian L&H market.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle both conceptual and practical issues;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders. Including enjoying team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives.
- Ability to work autonomously and solve problems with good judgement and business insight.
