About The Role
Join us in a key role supporting the delivery of critical OCMS Signalling Escrow projects, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of train services within the MR4 OCMS Train Control and Signalling Renewals work bank. As a Cost Controller, you will play a crucial role by supporting project estimates, developing and maintaining cost management processes, ensuring portfolio compliance with budgetary requirements, and providing hands-on cost control support.
Be part of a dynamic team driving successful project outcomes in a challenging and impactful environment. This is a 24-month, maximum term role.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders for comprehensive project estimates.
• Use Metro’s WBS for estimating, adapting for value engineering.
• Maintain cost reports, budgets, and forecasts for portfolio compliance, highlighting risks.
• Implement standard cost control procedures and provide consolidated reports to OCMS Leadership.
• Optimize project reporting by integrating work breakdown structure and forecasting methods.
• Support Project Managers with various financial aspects, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage timely invoicing and interface data with accruals.
• Apply earned value management for insights on portfolio performance.
• Produce monthly tracking information against budget to meet Finance Team requirements.
• Continuously improve cost control processes based on lessons learned and feedback.
• Assist provision of adequate information flow and consolidated reports to OCMS Senior Leadership around budgets, expenditure, forecasts and progress to accommodate decision making.
• Apply earned value management tools and techniques to interpret data and provide timely insight and recommendations on portfolio and program performance.
About You
• Tertiary qualification in Finance or Business or equivalent
• Extensive experience in Finance / Commercial Management
• Extensive knowledge of current cost control and project management techniques • Experience in commercial management and corporate governance (and risk mitigation) in a complex and/or multiple project environment.
