About the role
Keller Australia is currently seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our QLD team. This role would have the responsibility to ensure effective cost management by establishing accurate budgets, monitoring costs, analysing variances, and implementing strategies to control and optimise expenses.
You will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with Project Managers and Estimators to develop accurate cost estimates
- Analysing project specifications and requirements to identify potential cost risks and opportunities
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets and work closely with project teams to ensure budgets align with project requirements
- Regularly review project expenditures and compare them against budgets
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key cost-related metrics and trends.
- Conduct thorough variance analysis to identify reasons for discrepancies between planned and actual costs.
- Collaborate with project teams to address and mitigate cost variances.
About you
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
- Experience as a Cost Controller in in the construction / engineering industry
- Excellent communication to effectively interact with various stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking to identify areas of cost overruns
