Creative Draftsperson

Events 720 is a growing business in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. With a previous primary focus in the exhibition industry, Events 720 produce custom and bespoke exhibition stands to exhibitors and unique options for event organisers. Due to the pandemic and the mass gathering ban, we have diversified our business and now have several operational arms of the business. We operate The Wooden Toy Co, which manufactures wooden toys for children, and we also produce parklets and outdoor dining seating options, along with semi-permanent public activations for Melbourne based councils.

We are looking to hire a part-time Creative Draftsperson to join our team and provide support to the design team.

The role of our Creative Draftsperson is to create necessary designs, plans and relevant documentation files to be used by sales and production teams for all three arms of the business.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be organised, have established systems to complete work in a time sensitive manner, problem solve with limited information, work closely with production and sales teams and help these teams to achieve the right outcome for the client and have great attention to detail.

Main Duties

The main duties of this role will include but not be limited to;

· Ensuring the creative direction of the business and designs are consistent and of a high quality

· Working with production to ensure designs are produced to required specifications

· Designing and creating 3D models using specialised PC programs ( Rhino, Enscape etc)

• Creating high quality computer generated renders, elevations & documentation to sell and plan projects

· Creation of construction documentation & materials used for production and installation

· Having a high level of initiative and being a self-starter

Qualifications Required

The following qualifications are required from the Creative Draftsperson:

· Qualifications as a Draftsperson

· Minimum 2 years’ experience with 3D software and producing detailed documentation drawings

· Our ideal candidate will have experience in Rhino, but not crucial as training will be provided
