Term: This is a Two Year Maximum Term Contract, with the possibility of becoming an on-going role after contract period has ended.

About Us

In 1994 and 1995, Bank of China became the note issuing bank in Hong Kong and Macao respectively. The Bank prepared a new strategic development plan which was approved by the Board of Directors in March 2009. In Australia

Bank of China Limited Sydney Branch was established in 1942 and was the first Chinese bank to establish operations in Australia. Since resuming banking operations in Australia in 1985, Bank of China, (including Bank of China Limited and Bank of China (Australia) Limited) has dedicated itself to promoting the Australia-China trade and economic relationship. Building on decades of local market financial experience and expertise, Bank of China has built a fast and highly efficient global service network supplying a diversified range of financial products. Bank of China offers a comprehensive range of financial products, and to date is the only Chinese bank operating in Australia holding a licence to deal with both retail and wholesale customers.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Credit risk assessment of various transaction types including M&A, Project, Leveraged and Trade finance, as well as general funding requirements, for corporate and financial institutions
  • Industry coverage across diversified sectors including infrastructure, energy, mining, real estate, financial institutions and natural resources
  • Preparation and presentation of credit Due Diligence reports, rating recommendations, risk alert assessments and on-going monitoring of credit performance
  • Liaise with business functions to facilitate credit application and approval process
  • Providing guidance to ensure appropriate action is taken to mitigate any potential risks associated with customers , industry sectors and transaction structures
  • Other credit related tasks assigned from the bank’s management from time to time

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Tertiary qualified with at least 5 years of experience in structured transactions, preferably analytically related
  • Ability to write comprehensive Due Diligence report including but not limited to analysing company business model, assessing cash flow, constructing financial models, undertaking basic industry comparative studies and making appropriate counterparty and transactional recommendations
  • Good knowledge of banking products
  • Strong knowledge in project and structured finance
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office especially Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written language ability in both English and Chinese (e.g. Mandarin)
  • Independent, strong decision making skills and able to identify risks with reasonable solutions provided
