Then Brismark, a member-based services organisation located at Brisbane Markets, is looking for someone like you to join our Credit Service team as our Credit/Finance Officer.
Brisbane Markets is one of Australia’s largest Central Markets, with Wholesalers trading more than 700,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables each year, worth in excess of $2 billion. Brismark's Credit Service is the financial clearing house for Primary Wholesalers, Buyers and related businesses operating at the Brisbane Markets.
The Role
Reporting to our Finance and ICT Manager, your role will be busy and varied. The key focus for this position is the accurate processing of the weekly debtor data within the Credit Service department in line with timeframes and procedures. The position is also involved in the assistance of the Credit Service in the areas of Buyer/Wholesaler liaison, Buyer applications, payment processing, Credit Control and the resolution of any Credit issues or delinquent Buyers.
The key aspects of your role would entail:
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Credit Service.
- Meet all billing, remittance, and distribution deadlines to ensure other Credit Service processes meet required deadlines.
- Process invoices/billing to customers.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Weekly accounts receivable reconciliations.
- Prepare departmental memorandums and internal communications.
- Create and maintain client accounts and files.
- Engage with Buyers and Wholesalers and other potential customers on a daily basis and promote the Credit Service.
- Support the Finance and ICT Manager with Credit Applications and approval processes.
The role is an office-based, full-time role working Monday to Friday with early starts and early finishes (5.30am-2.00pm).
Skills and Experience
Do you have:
- Post-secondary qualifications - Certificate IV in Credit Management or equivalent experience (3-5 years credit management or accounts receivable/payable experience).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to communicate and consult effectively with multiple stakeholders
- A demonstrated understanding of credit applications and approval processes
- Demonstrated intermediate experience with data analysis and reporting skillsets.
- Initiative and excellent time management and organisational skills
- A flair for using IT software and systems with experience across multiple applications and CRMs
- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Great attention to detail
