Crew Leader – Quarry & Crushing

Patten Pavement Services (PPS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a ‘Crew Leader’ in Quarry & Crushing. As a professional and well-established business within the road construction industry, PPS stands as one of the leading independent construction companies in Victoria. Our clientele includes State Government Agencies, Municipalities, and Contractors across various sectors such as Road Construction, Crushing, Civil, Traffic Management, and Maintenance industries.

Crew Leader – Quarry & Crushing 

Role overview:

• Ensure you set the example of promoting a health and safe work environment. 
• Lead a small, dedicated crew in mobile quarry and crushing operations.
• Mix of machinery operation / labouring and site coordination of resources.
• As required, liaise effectively with multiple contractors and suppliers on site.
• Handle conflicts adeptly, taking control and considering the bigger picture.
• Excellent relationship and communication skills for effective coordination.
• Maintain a 38 hour workweek with provision for overtime, including availability for some Saturday work.
• Ability to plan and work towards tight deadlines ensuring efficiency and the highest quality work is completed on time.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in similar environments with crushers.
• Excavator loader experience and relevant tickets.
• Ability to operate and manage a small crushing/screening crew, liaise with clients, and coordinate the workflow according to PPS and customer requirements.
• Willingness to travel within the North and West of Melbourne and rotate through Saturdays as required. 
• Understanding the importance of preventative maintenance and operational uptime on productivity.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with Kleemann Crusher equipment is advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external relationships.
• Ability to think strategically, focusing on project goals beyond machine operation.
• Proactive approach to site cleanliness and organisation.

Remuneration:

• Company vehicle and relevant tools and equipment provided
• Excellent hourly rate with provision for overtime and allowances where applicable
• Accrual of hours for RDO’s
