THE ROLE:
Operations Managers are responsible for leadership and management of their assigned focus area. You will provide operational direction, ensuring that service delivery is in line with Calvary’s strategic direction. The role will focus on collaboration with multiple stakeholders, financial administration, reporting, human resource and risk management.
FOCUS AREA:
The Operations Manager - Critical Care Services is responsible for the oversight of Calvary Mater Newcastle's Emergency Department, Drug and Alcohol, Toxicology and Intensive Care services.
Calvary Mater Newcastle is a public hospital. We offer a high standard of patient care to the communities of Newcastle and the Hunter region, as well as a comprehensive range of health services. Our Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department operate on a 24/7 basis and are staffed by skilled multidisciplinary teams.

Your main duties will include:
- Support the Critical Care Services’ team to ensure access of service delivery & patient centeredness.
- Act as the champion of change by driving the implementation and evaluation of contemporary, evidence-based models of care.
- Provide nursing leadership and expert advice in the planning, coordination, operation and evaluation of the delivery of Critical Care Services, including the development of strategic/business plans and participation in service review, development and projects as required.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience managing operational budget in a climate of finite resources.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to quality improvement with an understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS).
- Demonstrated broad clinical and operational management experience within a complex health care environment. This includes experience in the development and implementation of business and operational plans.
