The Role
The Cross-platform Journalist is responsible for researching, compiling, reporting, producing news and feature content across SBS News platforms. The ideal candidate will be experienced in researching, writing, producing, voicing and editing news and feature scripts primarily for TV using both international and locally sourced material. They will also provide content for Audio and Online.
This role is a full-time position based in Sydney.
About you
Ideally, you will:
- Have two years’ demonstrable experience in journalism and news content production tasks for multiple platforms including TV, Audio and Online.
- Have a strong interest in and knowledge of current international and national events with the ability to identify and source interviews and information for strong news stories.
- Have strong organisational skills with the ability to work quickly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Be a creative journalist who can generate original news content ideas and treatments.
- Be an effective communicator and consider yourself a team player.
- Be able to travel for breaking news coverage and work a 7-day shift work roster.
Ideally, you will also have:
- a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- demonstrated experience in a media organisation
- strong writing and research skills
