The Department
At TV & Online Content - Sport, we deliver distinctive sports content that engages diverse audiences.
The Role
The purpose of this role: The Cross Platform Producer/Editor (casual), Sport works within the sports team in the production of high-quality content with a focus on our digital and social platforms.
Reporting to the Digital Lead within our Sport team, this role will be responsible for:
Producing, editing and curating content on Sport’s digital platforms, including managing SBS On Demand live streams, focusing on video editing / publishing, website articles / curation and generating audience engagement via social media platforms
Maintaining a high level of creative and editorial output within the confines of the departmental budgets.
Developing and increasing the volume of original and complementary multi-platform content in line with SBS Sport’s rights portfolio to enhance our website, social and On Demand offerings while ensuring balance, accuracy and quality
Keeping up to date with sports news and events, particularly sports rights owned by SBS, and regularly reviewing the output and standards of competitors for market trends
Maintaining a comprehensive contacts’ network to assist with interview content to amplify our rights portfolio and, as necessary, liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Model and promoting SBS Values through appropriate social, ethical and organisational standards in all interactions and processes
Undertaking work in a way that reflects and upholds SBS’s Charter, Vision and Values, fosters a positive and proactive work environment and complies with SBS’s policies, procedures and practices
It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.
About You
Passionate about Sport and digital content creation, particularly aligned with SBS Sport’s rights portfolio
Media industry experience and skills in video, visual and article production for Web, App, Social and On Demand / OTT platforms highly regarded
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Media / Journalism will be highly regarded
Ability to work independently or within a team on larger projects
Good understanding of the role that SBS plays in exploring and celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity
