ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Hourly rate from $43.45
  • Casual position including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Based at Coal Creek Community Park & Museum

South Gippsland Shire Council increasing its casual workforce with staff experienced in culture, arts or tourism.

This position will be mainly located at Coal Creek in Korumburra but may also include the Main Office in Leongatha and Visitor Information Centre in Foster.

Reporting to the Coal Creek Team Leader and being part of the Arts, Culture and Visitor Economy team, casual staff will deliver professional, accurate and friendly customer service and promote South Gippsland’s tourism, arts, and events to visitors.

As Coal Creek is open on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays the role may be required to work on these days.

ABOUT YOU

Your qualifications and experience may include:

  • Qualification in Administration or similar, and/or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service roles in a tourism or cultural environment.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to distribute cultural and tourism information.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft suite, design software, internet and database searching programs.

Flexibility is required and you can nominate the days you are available. As these roles are casual, all applicants should be aware that any offer of employment will not guarantee the future offer of any hours of work.
