About us:The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimizing health and reducing the burden of pain.About the opportunity:This newly created role of the Curriculum Development Coordinator will play an integral role in shaping anaesthesia curriculum, creating benchmark standards that will align with ANZCA's existing commitment to delivering education and training of the highest calibre.The role will:
  • Coordinate and contribute to curriculum and training program enhancements, including graduate and program outcomes, learning outcomes, the integrated program of assessment, and training program requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement processes and systems to ensure ongoing evidence-based enhancement of the anaesthesia training curriculum
  • Provide committee support to relevant committees and subcommittees
  • Provide general support to achieve the goals of the Education and Research Department
This role will report to the Research, Monitoring & Evaluation Lead. You will be based at ANZCA House on St Kilda Road, Melbourne. This is a new role with a great opportunity for someone to make their mark in establishing the role.Specifically, you will have:Essential:
  • A degree in a discipline such as education, teaching, health science, or a related industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of education Curriculum Development processes and theories
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering high-quality education-based initiatives
  • Skilled in developing and implementing robust continuous quality improvement activities, including process improvement
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to interact and build rapport confidently with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure; meeting set deliverables within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work flexibly; autonomously identifies and proactively initiates actions which contribute to process operations and can also collaborate effectively as a part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using a variety of media, including the ability to write a range of documents including minutes and reports succinctly and tailored to the appropriate audience
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, individual plans, and workflow and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated expertise in a range of PC applications including:
  • MS Project, Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Demonstrated experience working with a Learning Management System
  • Experience with and an aptitude to learn and confidently use in-house database systems and applications
Desirable:
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting committees
  • Experience in the medical education field
